Geography of operations
Grain Alliance strategy is to cultivate and operate as efficiently as possible in a concentrated geographical area.
Grain Alliance strategy is to cultivate and operate in a concentrated geographical area. The radius between the farms is approximately 80 km. By having farms in close proximity to each other machinery and equipment can be used more efficiently and the cost of transporting tractors, harvesters, between fields is lower. The drying and storage facilities can also efficiently service the existing farmsteads. Fuel is one of the main costs of the operations and by having a high geographical concentration in the operations Grain Alliance aims to create economies of scale and a long term reduction of fuel consumption.
